Echocardiogram report

I had an echocardiogram in December, 3 days later I had my annual check up with the cardiologist although my blood pressure was high he said I was doing well and to try and get the pressure down from 140/83 to below 120 ( he's been recommending this for the last couple of years but the GP hasn't taken any notice saying that she is happy with it). I did tell him though that one night my reading was 180/ something so he told me to up my Ramapril to 5mg twice a day. Then a week later I receive a copy of my echocardiogram which stated that my Left Atrium was severely dilated and my Sinus of Valsalva was dilated at 4.3cm. Surely I should have been advised by my cardiologist about this and what is the next best course of action as this is my 4th echocardiogram since my opp in 2016 and these points weren't mentioned before. So I am well disappointed the only good outcome is that his sugestion to up my Ramapril has brought my blood pressure down to a regular reading of between 117/73 and 121/76, get a bit dizzy now and again but full of energy and prepared to put up with it.

Hello yes he refered to the echo saying that there is not much change from last year

Yes thats it, it's not having it explained. I've already had a dissection of the ascending aorta that took out the valve at the same time so at least I know what to expect. Thanks for your reply
