Hi Cookery. I had an angioplasty 3 weeks ago, and shared a ward for the night with 3 ladies who'd just had ablations. They were all absolutely fine, and me getting up and going over to chat to them encouraged them to get up and have a wander. So, yes, it is a very safe procedure, but like everything else connected to our hearts, there is always a small risk.

Just sorry you were the 1 in 100 or 1000, Cookery!
