There are quite a few of us on here who are clearly not constipated just read some of the posts !!!

Seriously has this started since just beginning the beta blockers, and have you tried a mild laxative I am not recommending you start laxatives just asking a question.

These questions are better poised to a Medical Professional/Chemist maybe as we all react to our medication in different ways.

Hi

Ive had this trouble on and off since starting heart medication over 5 years ago. Not severe constipation but it lasts about 4 days and then I have to go to the loo. keep telling the gp but they look in thier book of medication and tell me it can't be the tablets it's not a listed side-effect. They tested kidney, liver, stool and colon and found nothing wrong. on my last visit to the consultant she did say that it is documented that Bisoprolol can be the cause of constipation. I think that the blood thinner Apixaban has something to do with it. Ive thought about taking laxitives and was told they would help when I went for the colon check, but you can't go out until they've done their job.
