I followed your post as I know eventually I'll be using one and was hoping someone would post in rave reviews of theirs
No-one has, though. My thinking therefore is I'll be Googling 'mobility scooters' and hoping for good informative reviews. I live close enough to Dundee where there are some home health care supply stores that stock the scooters and some chairs, so I think I'll give them a browse.
My dad (passed in '85) had one that folded and could be lifted mechanically to sit in the boot - he loved that thing as it gave him a few more years comfortable independence. I'd seen a few adverts on television for one that is narrow enough to fit through standard doorways and folds easily for storage in the hall cupboard or car boot - I haven't seen that advert for some time now but I don't watch a lot of telly any longer as I'm too busy getting the most out of my new lease on life after some cardiac complications this spring.
I did look around pre-op when my angina was really bad. Prices and quality are all over the place with price not reflecting quality where some companies see the disabled as "cash cows".
If the intention is to carry it in the boot some separate into two or three for ease of lifting in/out. Also consider if you will be using it for paved areas/indoors only as the cheapest ones will struggle on grassy/uneven surfaces.
If you are struggling with walking pre-book assistance at the airport for your trip to Spain.
