Exercise after Reverse Takatsubo episode

I was diagnosed with Reverse Takatsubo Cardiomyopathy on 7 July 2019. I had an hour were I felt breathless but nothing else. The angiogram showed no evidence of blockages so no stents were needed. I spent 5 days in hospital and given the usual cardiac medications to protect my heart and then discharged home with little advice on what I could or couldn't do. I have my Cardiac MRI scan in 4 days time. I feel fine and would like to ask when people started to exercise again. By that I mean gardening and walking which are my two main interests. Any advice would be welcome.

Hello I think we have talked before. I was diagnosed with Takatsubo Cardiomyopathy around the same time as you. I had prolonged period of chest pain and was treated as a heart attack. In hospital for 2 weeks and moved between 3 hospitals before Angiogram and diagnosis. Told I would get better and could return to normal exercise. The Cardiac nurse said I should do this slowly. I feel well but I do feel more tired than before but have continued to increase my exercise. Have mowed lawn and back to walking dogs in the hills where I live. I have been left in limbo as I don't know when or which hospital is following me up and the Cardiologist who did the Angiogram told me the MRI scan should be done 6 weeks after the initial heart event but due to demand will probably be 6 months. My main concern is that it is stress related and can occur again so have been offered support from a specialist occupational therapist to advise me.

I believe most Cardiac units have access to community support staff who can offer advice and Cardiac rehab.

Good Luck with your recovery please let me know how your MRI scan goes.
