To all of you who have had any heart-related problems, IE stents fitted etc, I have one of these Revitive foot massages machines I've had one for years under different names Now, folks, my question is is it okay to use one as it supposedly helps push the blood around the heart I have looked in lots of places for some form of instruction as to is it safe to use these machines are a bit overpriced really for what they are I did find it helped with water retention in my legs before the stent was fitted, activity on here seems to have dropped off or is that a splurge and peeps can't think of anything more to say, or is it some of you have dropped off you're perches, do hope you have taken out that costly funeral insurance I love filling other pepes pockets with my hard earned loot, keep on trucking fellow stenters

I would think it would depend on your heart condition. My husband wouldn't be allowed to use it as he has heart failure & has had self terminating vt's plus a previous cardiac arrest. He can't use hot tubs etc for the same reason. Probably best to ask your medical team as they would know best.

I asked them they looked t me with a blank look, to be honest, I don't have a lot of faith in our local doctors,I seem to know more about things than they do

Maybe e mail the manufacturer for advice. Or speak to one of the BHF nurses on this forum.

Been there as well guess what their advice is to see your doctor, seems like a get out of jail card to me pass the buck

The BHF nurse said "ask your Dr"? Do you have a cardiologist you can ask? It would be difficult for someone on here to say yes as we don't know your condition or medical history.

How about asking Ian Botham, he's the one advertising them

Can I just say that I was told I couldn't use these after suffering blood clots on the lungs a few years ago. I was told that if there was any existing clots adhered to the walls of the veins in my legs etc that these machines can dislodge them and they can then travel up to your heart, lungs etc. I've been on anticoagulants for years but I'm still not allowed to use them or other similar things like vibro plates at the gym.

I suppose it depends on why you had to have your stent fittted but I would certainly air on the side of caution and get advice from a knowledgeable source before using, better to be safe than sorry.
