Hi All - I have recently been diagnosed with Coronary Heart disease and Atherosclerosis confirmed by a CT scan. I am waiting for an invasive angiogram and possible stent implant if required. I was wondering if there was anyone in a similar position? The symptoms I have had are varied and intermittent - but with the main ones being fatigue and breathlessness.
Just wondering what others have experienced with CHD...especially around the symptoms as some days I can feel absolutely fine and then others I feel completely floored. Not sure if this is normal?
As I have always had FH I have a pretty good diet and was a runner before developing CHD so relatively fit, but now feel a bit nervous about activity in general. My cardiologist has recommended I trying cycling, building up slowly. If anyone has any good books which deal with 'life after CHD' I would be grateful. Just trying to process it all!

Hello, I am convinced I have heart issues, my symptoms are exactly like yours. Im 37 and used to be a runner(up until February this year)but my heart rate used to get over 200bpm and I would get chest pain, dizziness and weakness. I was pretty fit,was training for a marathon. When others saw how high my bpm was they were concerned. Now I have days of complete exhaustion, always seem to have some degree of chest pain, which sometimes radiates to my back too. I have had ecgs done a few times and they have been fine. Waiting for a heart rate monitor to show my results of a run. Any advice? It struck a cord that we were same sort of age!
