Anxious about the upcoming op...

Morning,

I’ve had my operation date confirmed: 21st May.

I’m having my aortic root replaced with the Dacron tube....they can spare the valve which, although bicuspid, is working fine.

After the months of waiting it is now close and suddenly very real. One positive note is that the surgeon has said that he can perform the procedure via mini thoracotomy rather than through the sternum.

I don’t know if anyone has any experience of this procedure and any feedback on recovery etc?

Obviously, am worried about the whole procedure....

Hi, I’ll dig out a long post I wrote about it and send you. My op was 5 months ago and is a distant memory.
