How long should I wait before chasing up the results of a CT cardiac scan? I had one over 4 weeks ago & have heard nothing so far. Thanks.

Ring the cardiac secretary on Monday and chase it up. 4 weeks is plenty of time

Totally agree - I had a CT scan and echocardiogram (told on day echocardiogram was good) and heard nothing for over a month. Next time I heard it was from the hospital I had been referred to for a bypass! This was a total shock as I was awaiting an appointment for stents. The letter from my local hospital arrived some time later - all letters and appointments are outsourced and sent from 100 miles away! My completion and discharge from rehab arrived three months after the event!

my husband is in exactly the same position.. had a CT angiogram 3 weeks ago.. i phoned the Cardiologist’s secretary.. the Consultant radiographer’s report landed on his desk last Friday.. Cardiologist will hopefully look at it this week and he needs to write a report.. both reports will be sent to GP.. seems this is normal practice..if we don’t get updated news by midweek will contact GP

I would have done it a week after. So as soon as you can.

Thanks everyone. I'll ring to chase it up on Monday.
