What should you do if you are ill with flu or a bug that makes you be sick? I have to take quite a lot of pills and worry what would happen if i had something like norovirus and couldn't keep them down!

If it happens speak to your doctor - I'd try not to worry about it if it hasn't happened.

I had it last week, horendous. Well I think it was that, Gp and 111 doctors thought it could also be food poisoning. I wasn't able to keep meds down ether.

I was told not to take blood pressure ramerpril, as they would make me evan more dyhighdrated. Also stop Bisoprolol, Aspirin & Vitimon Fultium D. She said if I could manage to keep it down, take my Levothyroxine, lansoprazole & Atorvastatin. Not a chance that stayed down for six days.

I am now back on normal meds, which is great as the Af was becoming an issue again. It now seems to be settling down thank goodness.

The tiredness is pretty full on again, I guess until the meds completely get back in my system & balance out again.

All in all, I am now over the worst of it.

My advice, well if you, family memember, housemates or friends have it. Make sure everyone is really vigerllent on basic hygiene. Hands, toilet, bathroom in genral, kitchen surfaces, dishes etc. Door & cupboard handles etc. You know, all the everyday commancence stuff.

The sick person should drink sips of water so to stay in the system longer. Dioralyte is a must to rehydrate. There is always a pharmacy open somewhere on a Sunday. Or maybe the larger supermarkets will sell it if you haven't already got some.

If you can manage to eat evan while still in the process of the virus. Make sure it is bland foods like toast, pasta, thin soups, porridge, brand flacks etc. They are a bit boring but have a better chance of staying in the system. Also if your body still wants to be sick or carry on with the other not so nice bit. Well it has at least got something to work with, it wont hurt or burn quite so much. But remember, little and often. The main priority is of course fluids.

I would stay away from the surgery tomorrow, you can pass it on as we know. But you also have to realise you are now vulnerable to catching and adding evan more to your current illness. You could make yourself even worse than you already are. It could go from a common winter virus to something much more serious.

1 . Call the on call doctor, or 111 for your indervigual advice,

2 . Check out your meds situation,

3 . Keep hydrated eat little often if possible,

4 . Relax & rest, elavating legs maybe watch a film or listen to some music. But also try to get up and move around a little in between being sick moments. Just make sure you don't get up too quick or move around to fast, as your blood pressure may not be at it's best.

5 . Keep warm but don't overheat

7 . People around you, strict hygiene

8 . Stick to basic commonsense then you or whoever is sick, will be fine in a couple of days or so.

Very best wishes, Jo xx
