Is it normal to feel worse when you start bisoprolol? It's made me even more short of breath and a nervous knot feeling in my chest.

Bisprolol
Hi Becky, yes fairly normal. The beta blocker can interfere with the little sacs in your lungs making it difficult to breath. It should settle down in a few days but if it doesn't go and see your GP there are others available
Using a chemical therapy to control one part of the body (beta-blocker) will have a knock on effect in the key area of the lungs but my understanding is that once the lungs adjust things settle.
However if things persist or you are concerned ring your GP and just ask to talk to someone, we have a cardiac nurse we can ring at our practice who is able to explain reactions and bypass the system if something needs to change.
Thanks for you reply. I'm newly diagnosed with heart failure and haven't yet seen then specialists. Will see them at the end of next week and hoping to feel better by then.
I too had issues with Bisoprolol my GP changed my dosage and I now take half in the morning and half at night which appears to have helped
Its terrible stuff, read side effects and get doctor to change it. There a plenty of alternatives, you do have a say in your meds.
