24 hour monitoring ECG.

Had this a few weeks back now and put the results up on here, this forum. Was informed that my heart beating below 60bpm is acceptable as long as i don't have other symptoms such as lethargy and dizzy spells, which I do. Feel very foggy headed and faint. Exhaustion too.

Is it possible that these symptoms could be connected to sinus bradycardia? There was some wording on the report that puzzled me. It had the words, throughout the ECG readings, Patfinder SL, confirmed. Does anyone know what these words mean as they are puzzling me...?

Lydia.

I don't know what Ptahfinder SL is, but in respect of your resting HR......

as I understad it depends what is 'normal for you'. I always had a slow resting HR; in the 50s pbm when fit and in the 60s when not!. Post OHS to replace valves I am now on a batablocker due to some AF and so my HR is in the 50s normally and in high 40s when resting / asleep. Docors advsie me the same as you, if I have no other sysmptoms then it is not an issue. I dont have any, but it sounds like you may have and so you may need to speka kto yor doctors.

That does seem like what I need to do. Is to go back and see my doctor. I'd really like a cardiac exercise test, but when requested this, was refused as I was told that the previous test, ecgs, 24 hour monitoring one and echocardiogram all came back clear. Just wondering that, if in these tests, they were just over the acceptable level, would they be dismissed as indicating no problems with my heart?

Hi Lydia - sorry you've been having all these symptoms. Having a slow heart rate can be a cause, but if they're happy with your ECG it might be they have to explore other avenues.

I've done a quick Google search and it looks like Pathfinder SL is a sort of ECG analysis tool: spacelabshealthcare.com/dia...

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Chris
