Would you say your mental health has ... - Bereavement Care ...
Would you say your mental health has improved in the past 6months?
Yes I feel on the whole my mental health has got a lot better since March as during the winter months I became very despondent and despairing over the job situation and things getting cancelled like autumn plans and having various freedoms taken away but the interviews restarted in March and I have some coming up this week coming and next week and one on 17 September as well.
Yesterday we went to a dessert parlour in the afternoon called creams as there were problems with the trains going to the lido so we decided to give the lido a miss and go another day instead so went to the dessert place and the staff were really nice and couldn't do enough for us and we got free crepes from going there so the trip wasn't wasted and we will visit them again another day.
We had been to creams in Cheltenham back in 2019 and it had been acceptable there.
When I look at 2018/2019 and how life was back then it's like looking back at a bygone era as life now has changed in lots of ways for the better as I do feel covid has changed me for the better as it has taught me never to take anything for granted again and how tomorrow isn't guaranteed to anyone like the sudden death of Dr Thomas at our surgery who was only 66 when she died one Sunday afternoon out cycling with a heart attack and she was really active and healthy as well so no heart attacks dont discriminate!
Today myself and my friends went to a place for brunch called the corner house which we enjoyed and a wander round the shops and were sad at the way the house of Fraser had gone to rack and ruin and town isn't the same without debenhams either.
Back in March 2020 we were going to have gone to the corner house for lunch one Monday but we had decided to cancel it ourselves due to the things that were getting cancelled hand over fist in order to spare ourselves the heartbreak and not bother booking anything and it was the right decision!
With the lido we have rearranged for another day which has taken the sting out of nothing going yesterday!
Today we had brunch at the corner house and it was nice to have the opportunity to do that again and we will visit them again in the future.
Yes, I think I am feeling a bit brighter these days. Just got back from lunch out in Liverpool with family, then we went to one of the museums. It was nice to see people out and about enjoying themselves in the sunshine. I do worry what lies ahead in the autumn, Covid-wise, but I feel a bit happier and settled. It is almost a whole year since my husband died, I think I am just now getting over the shock of it all and am finally in a state to face living on my own with a bit more confidence.
There's nice getting lunch out!
In regard to the autumn and covid it's about taking things a step at a time.
I’d prefer to say yes & no. We are having wildfire smoke, a water shortage threatening our agriculture industry, rolling blackout threats, Delta surge, inflation, a housing shortage, etc., but I have been improving my coping skills lately.
I wish it had Chloe but I`m kind of stuck.
Mine is getting worse. Back in the office for the first time in 18 months. Good to see a few familiar faces but had spells when I just wanted to cry buy tried my utmost not to. Just feel drained and empty
