I’m not receiving any form of therapy from my doctor. My mum died last July and it’s really a huge struggle! My mum was 92 years old but age doesn’t matter she was still my mum. We lived together nearly my whole life! She developed Vascular Dementia and I nursed her at home for years until I could no longer keep her safe! She then had to go into a home! On my birthday last year I was told that she was dying after having two seizures in hospital. Her COVID test came back negative so I brought her home to die. With lock down I have been unable to go to her grave as she’s buried in Moray which is nearly 150 miles away! I’m mentally so very anxious about my birthday this year as it’s the anniversary of being told mum was dying! Then 10 days later she died. So many firsts coming up it’s so hard to cope! I had a Stroke 4 years ago and a large Brain Tumour removed and still live with a right frontal lobe Brain Tumour. I was diagnosed with a form of Inflammatory Arthritis last year and have another autoimmune disease. I was diagnosed with severe Anxiety and Depression over 20 years ago. So I’ve completely forgotten what it feels like to feel in any way normal over the past few years! So very much going on mentally and physically just now. 💔😘xx

I'm so sorry to read of the loss of your dear Mum, anniversaries of any kind especially the first is very difficult to cope with and it's the dread that causes such distress, we're always here for you, so please don't suffer alone, you're not!

It sounds as though you need some support, so please consider asking your Doctor to refer you for Bereavement Counselling or you could just contact your local Counsellor, you could look online for someone, near you.

Sending love
