I was placed on Dianette for my skin originally, a few weeks ago I had the nexplanon (bar) inserted in my arm. Can I still take dianetter
Dianette won't affect the implant, they actually work as contraception in the same way. How long have you been taking the Dianette for? Dianette is one of those pills that shouldn't be taken for a long time, it should be stopped after the skin problems resolve. If the skin problems don't settle then there are other options available (especially for acne). The "standard" contraceptive pill (microgyanon) is probably just as effective for skin problems as Dianette anyway.
I'd have a chat with a sexual health/GP with an interest in contraception to talk through your options.
Hope that helps.
People sometimes stay on their combined pill (which is what dianette is) for up to three months whilst using the implant to help regulate the irregular bleeding they can sometimes get with the implant. After that though it would be a good idea to stop the combined pill.
Dianette can be used to help with skin problems but should be stopped three too four months after any skin problems have settled. This is because, although a small risk, it does have a slightly higher risk than other contraception of blood clots.
There are other combined pills that might be better to try. Have a chat with someone from a contraceptive service or a gum clinician.
