Hi, I was told that you don't need to warm breast milk that has been in the fridge. So what are the advantages of heating over not?

Hi, it’s purely down to baby’s preference. Some happily have cold from the fridge whilst others prefer it warm as that’s how it comes when it’s direct from the source. There physiological are no advantages or disadvantages to either. For me, the benefit to giving cold is that if hubby is on feeding duty in the middle of the night you don’t need to wait for it to be heated and then cooled so baby can get it faster and you can get back to sleep faster!

Interestingly my second (now 17 months) won’t drink cow’s milk direct from the fridge. That has to be heated fist. But he would happily take breast milk cold. Funny little thing 😂

Mine takes it cold from the fridge. We have never even tried to warm it. So glad he's happy to have it that way because when he wants it he really wants it like 5 mins ago.
