Has anybody else had ongoing side effects after taking clarithromycin. Finished course three weeks ago but my gastrointestinal tract has been wrecked.

Antibiotics kill bacteria including gut bacteria. It is worth trying taking probiotics for a few weeks. There are yoghurts or similar products with live cultured bacteria in them. These are 'helpful' bacteria, which our guts need to work properly. I've found it useful to make sure I take them especially after a course of antiobitics.
I cannot take Clarithromycin due to the horrific side effects, when I was admitted to hospital last year the consultant recorded it as an allergy so I don't get it prescribed for me now.
