Hi. I have recently started taking beclometasone. Am having terrible trouble sleeping. Is this a common side effect and will things improve as my body gets used to taking it.

A Beclomethasone inhaler or indeed any steroid inhaler, is unlikely to be causing you sleep problems, but uncontrolled asthma certainly will. May be the sleep problems are because of your asthma rather than the new inhaler you are taking for your asthma?

Prednisolone tablets can cause sleep problems for some people.

It's worth sticking with the steroid inhaler, because they really do work for most people, however it takes a couple of weeks of taking them for them to really start working well.

Hang in there
