Does anyone know of any exercise DVDs for people living with lung disease? Good or bad! Thanks, Katie (BLF Active)

Hi Katie

I have been using Functional Fitness [COPD and Asthma ]

by Suzanne Andrews......bought from Amazon....

you can do sitting or standing.....

increase strength and capacity of respiratory muscles

decrease shortness of breath and increase oxygen saturation.

MOVE OR LOSE IT - older person. I dont know of any dvds particularly for lung disease. In fact, I will be interested to hear about them. ====Annie80

If the BLF don't already have one, and I dont recall seeing one, can BLF have an App developed for us on the move?

a cheapish one can be ordered on mindpub.com/buy_COPD/index.htm

this is for the severely challenged COPDers

Hi All,

I called the BLF, they do not produce exercise DVD's, The australian BLF kindly sent me one but it cannot be played on our equipment. I think its a case of goofgle it and search, but don't hold your breath (sorry for the pun).

Hi, We were given a free DVD called move on up it stars angela rippon. I could let you have one if you want it. Annie

I bought this one a couple of months ago amazon.co.uk/Stretchworks-F...

It's not specific for the "lung challenged" but it's very easy to do at your own pace (I am 60), and helps stretch all those muscles which don't get used when you have breathing problems. I find it really helps with the aches & pains I get in my shoulders/ribcage/back because of continual coughing

Hello all,

Thank you very much for all your responses!

It's good to gauge what's out there.

I have a copy of Move on up. Those of you who have it, how do you find it? Do you like it? Is it suitable for you? Be honest!

The BLF do a DVD called Living well with COPD but not an exercise one. I'll look into the Australian Lung Foundation one too.

Many thanks,
