Help please there are a lot of upsetting issues going on right now and am so close to having a cigarette, sitting here weeping.
Struggling Day 16: Help please there... - Lung Conditions C...
Struggling Day 16
Get up,go for a quick walk,or do some gentle exercise,The craving will pass in a few minutes xx
Lizzie just logged on Please don't one will lead to so many more. It is so hard but try I'm struggling too be strong against it and it will pass, remember smoking made you ill and it will make you worse
Remember the time will come, maybe not just yet, that you wont give it a thought, pray x
I know it is very difficult for you but try not to undo all the good you have done,,
As pedantic said go for a walk, have a potter round the garden, deep breathing( as best you can) give your teeth a good brushing feel the freshness...
I believe I'm right that nicotine is out of your system within forty eight hours.. Hold a pencil do some doodling,,,
But it is up to you if you feel the stress is too much to take at the moment then have one, take big long drags, you will feel very light headed and cough and cough,,,
and you can always try again tomorrow.
.
I really can't help with what you are going through, however I wish you all the best,
no one on here can judge you, but we will all support you.
Love B.
thank you so much xxxx
Hi Lizzie
Call us now for a chat - we are here waiting! 03000 030 555.
The thought of having a cigarette is often nicer than actually having one. Having a cigarette now will probably taste horible and won't be as nice as you thought - you may then feel guilty and give yourself a hard time which can make things harder for you.
You are doing really well!
Best Wishes
Jo
After 16 days without it's the old habit that's appealing, the way you used to use the smoking to banish your problems, or so it seemed.
Unlike the craving for nicotine, in the first few days, this is the real willpower test. It's down to re-training your own mind that this isn't the answer...
Lizzie, we all know how hard it is to give up and we are all here to support you. Hope you have rung the helpline.
Keep strong if you can.
polly xx
Hi Lizzie . - Keep telling yourself you must give up- think of all the things you can do with the money, the extra years of better quality life, be Positive you can do it.
It wasn't easy or pleasant for my hubby either. It does get easier. Have you tried the patches?
Nicotine is an addiction, try and get as much help from your Doctor as you can.
Hi Lizzie
Sending you HUGE, WARM HUGS. This horrible feeling WILL pass I promise you. Nicotine is such an addictive drug but 17 days is fantastic so kick that demon out of your life. Promise that it will get easier and you'll feel so proud.
Take care
If you feel like a fag just remember the effort you have put in for the last sixteen days. Also you are now on the downhill side of your first month without one.
Take a walk breath deeply & give yourself a huge pat on the back for giving up the fags. Well done on becoming a non smoker.
Jo
Don't throw your efforts away. Keep battling the demon nicotine. The cravings will go off and then you can feel so bl$$dy superior because you did not give in. And you will be richer. And you will smell better. And your skin will improve. And you will have less wrinkles. And.....((((HUGS)))).
I love this thank you so much I would love to feel superior what fun. And hugs to you took.
Don't give in not after 16 days - it gets better. We shall all want to hear tomorrow that you're still a non smoker
Thank you so much - you will be pleased to hear I did not succumb, just cried, how pathetic is that? xx
It is NOT pathetic! It was one of the withdrawal symptoms for me, often bursting into tears. Who cares? The tears will stop. Keep on keeping on. xx
Lizzie, You're doing great, hang in there and CRY if you want too - do anything but not one puff.
Hugs xxx
