Hi, yes i have alpha 1 anti trypsin deficiency, i was diagnosed 7 years ago after having pleurisy, my GP tested me as i was only 47 and should have recovered my lung function but hadnt. Lots of GPs dont think to test for alpha 1 but its important as its heriditary and affects whole families, been living with this for a while now so have learnt a lot, let me know if you have any questions or i can help at all. best wishes Sally
