Glad you don't mind my pedantry. I looked up the butterfly in my little butterfly book, because I'm not a butterfly expert. It's a pearl bordered fritillary, definitely not the sort to come to a back garden. Much easier to identify from your gorgeous photograph than seeing it fluttering about in the field. There are 2 species, the pb frit and the small pb frit, only distinguished if you can see their underwings. Thank goodness-really it's just nice to see a beautiful butterfly. xxxx

lovely picture but further north we havent had this summer warmth . my heating has nbeen coming on and i am siitting with vest and 2 t- shirts and a thin sweater on .still cold. i am old and feel it more but this is not on . come back summer

I know it's normally colder up North but down South is kind of colder this year also it's normally in the high 20 s by now but still around 22 is good for me 🥰

Really pretty shot of the butterfly aka the fritillary ...a fun word to say! A flitting fritillary. Try saying that 3 times really fast!😀😬😅

Beautiful butterfly. We've been in Norfolk these last two weeks (home tomorrow 😟).Last week I went to Hickling Broad and saw a Swallowtail butterfly, unfortunately it didn’t settle at all so no photo. I did manage to take a photo of the Norfolk Hawker dragonfly, not very close up though. Again, it didn’t settle.

It's not cold here at and yes we had sunshine for the bigger part of the day ... when it rains it's showers but the temps around 21 .22 ish 😍

What a beautiful butterfly! We have dozens of caterpillars eating nettles across the road from our house. Amazing to see and will soon become Peacock butterflies.
