If everyone does that there will probably be nothing left to fly next year. Just a thought.

I'm hoping that by oct. Things will be up and running again so I can get a bit of autumnal sun in southern europe , I missed my feb. Holiday so I've got my fingers crossed for oct.

Me too. We would have got home yesterday after a 15 day hol. At least the weathers been good during the pandemic. It could have been a lot worse. X

I wouldn't fly anywhere at any time.

However that's just me.

My husband used to be an electroplater, he overhauled aircraft parts, undercarriages, nose cones etc. He held a safety stamp from CAA and FAA but he still couldn't convince me flying was safe.

I know I'm daft but that's me.

My wife was the same and I never tried to change her mind because I found the jouney there and back often the best part of the holiday. 🚙🚐🚗

I agree the journey is a big part of the holiday.

Even now, using passenger assist on trains, journeys can be good. I see a lot of the countryside and wildlife from the train.

I meet a variety of people, from very kind, helpful staff, interesting fellow passengers, the oddballs, know-it-alls and first time, nervous travellers, students going to and from university. It's really good fun.

I've ended up discussing books, playing cards and seeing family photographs all on my way to Wales or Yorkshire.

When I was young and fit I would break my journey at some point and go exploring. (can you get out of a plane and wander through the clouds?) That part of the journey has gone now of course.

We don’t fly anyway but I hope people can get away at some point. Xxxx

I should be in Poland at the moment. Obviously cancelled by holiday company. However, the thought of an enclosed small space with re cycled air doesn't seem appealing for at least a year, efficient vaccine or cure. Am I asking for a lot?

Doesnt appeal at all. Never did. But it was a means to an end. Two weeks holiday would be spent getting there and back again so take a plane to main airport , then ferry trips are part of holiday. All necessary when busy working rest of year.

Now there have been cruise ships from british ports . Even hurtigruten had a ship starting in dover. But what is going to happen this year?. I dont want to be stuck on a cruise ship as people have been this year. And the air there is not necessarily good.

Home again but please ĺet me out of the house . Sometime .

I've been waiting to be able to get home and was beginning to get used to the idea that it wouldn't be for a while. Then i heard the UK is ending lockdown at the end of May. Now suddenly it's Monday. So now I'm starting to look at flights and i am dreading the journry already. i have 6 airports to negotiate. Apparently I'll have to wear a mask. I wore a mask once and couldn't breathe in it. But, I'll have to remove the mask for security and passport control. So it's pretty soon going to get filthy. And I'm going to have to keep putting it back on my face. I don't know if I'll be allowed to remove my mask to drink water on the plane. I get thirsty on planes and usually drink lots of water. I think air travel in the future is going to be even more of an ordeal than its become recently.

We stopped flying on holidays because of the endurance tests at the start of the holidays flying from Manchester Airport. Maybe that will improve now.
