I will definitely have to be very careful, I have 3 of those listed co-morbidities. Although I cannot quite work out my odds having those 3 from that, not that it will make any difference.

I found some of the results surprising. Why diabetes and hypertension have such consequences I do not know. The good news for my wife is that being immunosuppressed could actually help her fight the disease. I have two of the listed co-morbidites so I am being careful to.

Thanks for this, struggled through to the end and glad I did. I have the issue of age, asthma, Crohn's Disease and brittle bones from years on steroids. I presumed that the Immune system suppressant med I take for Crohn's would be a problem and increase my likelihood of dying, now I read it may actually be helpful, so, do I now stop all the vits and minerals I thought I might take to improve the immune system? The more the information, the more the questions.

My wife is in the same situation.. Personally after reading this making yourself as healthy as possible is vital. It would make sense to keep taking your vitamins.

Thank you badbessie, these statistics confirm what in general context is true for most respiratory disease in older persons as your age rises so does your risk of more serious illness especially if you have existing lung conditions and death is more likely. However taking a wider veiw death is prevalant in any age group , but more specifically expected in those over seventy. Take care, keep warm , and stay as sterile as possible.
