Trinity researchers make asthma breakthrough.

Researchers from Trinity have made a breakthrough that may eventually lead to improved therapeutic options for people living with asthma. The researchers have uncovered a critical role for a protein (Caspase-11), which had previously never been implicated in the disease.

That’s a hopeful discovery. I wonder why Ireland has one of the highest incidences of asthma in Europe 🤔 Also I wonder why the article describes asthma as a childhood disease, because it affects adults and in some cases doesn’t start until adulthood. I thought the notion that asthma is a childhood disease that most people grow out of has been debunked as one of the Great Asthma Myths. But, it’s great that a whole new discovery has been made.
