Hi looking for some advice? As a result of chest pain tachycardia and breathlessness walking upstairs, breathless walking and talking, at times just standing have to take deep breath with episodes sweating was referred to cardiologist for investigations in August.

My worry is had CT coronary angiogram in November which didn’t show significant furring arteries but something called ‘mosaic profusion change in the airways in the absence of an enlarged pulmonary artery or other bronchiectasis’ and as a result been referred to respiratory medicine to investigate small airways disease.

I still have chest pain and breathlessness, times struggle walking one flight of stairs have take deep breath top of stairs at times lay down, it’s like I can’t get enough air in, my concern is this has been on and off for 10 years, when diagnosed with ME. Since which time regularly wake up intense headaches, cough up mucus and hoarse voice but put down to ME and severe Gastroesophageal reflux disease suffered for 20 years. I’m waiting appointment with respiratory medicine and have received a letter saying I need some more breathing tests which cardiology team will arrange.

I am 54 never smoked. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as quite worried.

I am so sorry to hear about all your problems. I have bronchiectasis and was very ill for over two years until my diagnosis. I then improved a great deal once on prescribed medication. However my doctor was prescribing a two week course of antibiotics when I had s flare up however I was on and off them every few weeks. I then saw a top specialist once privately who prescribed double the dose that I had been taking and the improvement was remarkable. What I am trying to say is don’t lose hope or get too down as once you get your diagnosis and are on the right meds you will hopefully see a huge improvement.

If you can search out the most highly respected expert on your field and get an appointment with them then even better. Best £250 I ever spent! Best wishes x

Hi Jackie , it’s a big worry when Drs start to investegate new things wring with us , but the good thing is theyr going to start tests to see what could possibily be going on. I have copd it took a few years for a proper diagnosis but that was just me having bad luck with the consultant. I know I was told if there’s anything wrong with your lungs they need to also keep an eye on your heart and vice versa. Maybe you you should talk to your gp he /she might give you a better idea of what’s going on I’m sure your gp will have had a letter or e mail from them. I wish you all the very best , take care and let us know how you get on . 🌹🌹
