Swordfish, also known as Xiphias gladius. It's a non schooling fish. Just as well. They have long sword like "beaks" . If they swam in schools I think there would be many casualties. 😂😂😂They are found in temperate tropical seas. 😁
I think dying of indigestion would have been a first, Iris, but I understand your reluctance to risk a repeat (pun intended) of the experience you had.
Used to live on kippers lived by the sea so always fresh, loved the smell and new potatoes. But one day I got some bones stuck couldnt breathe it was so frightening put me off them it scared me not touched since but still love the smell when I visit family and they have just had kippers.
I only eat filleted boil in the bag ones now which only have a few soft bones which I don't notice. Like Skis said, they are not a patch on the old style fresh ones.
oooo you've reminded me I used to get the boil in the bag ones, reduces the smell. I wonder if they still come like that, an excellent source of protein & fish oil so I shall try to find some.
Hope the sun is shining where you are as it is here in the west country 😎 - at last!
Tesco have them, two in a bag with a lump of butter, very easy to do. 🙂 Cold in the NW last night but bright and sunny now. Can’t go out unfortunately having new fences put up ready for the winter gales.
