I'm beginning to feel my age Carole, it was a lovely day today and I should have been off out in that campervan, but I don't have the energy. Both Midge and I are off our food. I think messing with the clock is responsible. I'm going to ignore Daylight Saving Time in future in favour of Don & Midge Time. ๐x
The old time doctors came very close to that. I remember my mother taking me to Dr Shanks with a boil on the base of my thumb. His surgery was the front room of a semi-detached house on a main road and his wife answered the door and showed us into their living room to wait. He lanced the boil in the surgery and green stuff flowed out which together with the pain turned me as white as a sheet, according to my mother. She was afraid that I would be sick on the bus going home, so Mrs Skanks took us back in the living room for a cup of tea till I recovered. I remember it so well it would have been around 1937/38.
Morning Mr.D and today its actually a bright but chilly day which helps with the old mindset ... good day outside so feeling more up beat than the last few days at least!
Other replies have already said how you're always right with your observations etc and you entertain us by putting your clever brain into its rhyming mode. ๐คญ๐๐. Hope your day is a good one. Our dog Hazel will not go out for walks if its raining so shes got no reason not to go out for an hour or so today and my son is getting her collar and lead on her right now. Does little Midge have preferences,likes/dislikes ..... from what you've said, she is just one very happy lady as long as she's with you! How does she cope with the fireworks๐ฅ๐๐ป๐ฅ๐๐ ?
Well I like having my ego stroked HS, so don't hold back on my account. ๐ Most people think that all dogs start jumping up and down at the touch of a collar or lead, but I think both Hazel and Midge would say differently. They have their own ideas about that especially when it's raining and when they think they have walked far enough. Midge is small enough to shove under my arm on such occasions. Fireworks send her into attack mode, thunder and lightening are the only things that make her tremble and she has her 'Thunder Shirt' to wear then. ๐
Apparently a couple of the big supermarkets are banning the sale of all fireworks as from next year which is a start. Ok a few sparklers, those types that dont go wizz up into the sky and then bang, bang, bang ... they arent so bad for backgarden events for the little kiddies but otherwise id say anything that makes loud noises etc have to be organised and approved by the local council. Phew ive got that off my chest after last nights events were soooooo stressful for Hazel๐ and even a few others we could hear barking and howling everytime a rocket wizzed up and then did a huge bang ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐
Halloween seems to have taken over Bonfire/Firework night which is no bad thing in some respects. It's a good job Guy Fawkes isn't still around or we could be having a repeat performance the way things are in Parliament. ๐๐
Don how on earth did you get an appointment . Rather should i say how long did you have to wait for it..? I have to wait aweek to speak to a trainer doctor on the telephone! There was a time......... never mind i always enjoy
