Janlyn, see a Dr now. Sounds like it could possibly be broken ribs . Just a comment for all, you CAN break ribs in a violent coughing jag. Best Regards, judg69

Went to the doctor tonight, she wants me to go to hospital for tests, for a blood clot on my lungs.

Sounds like I was last summer , mine was Pleurisy so I would get yourself checked asap.

Yes, I have had pain like that, it was pleurisy. See a Dr. if it is pleurisy it will get steadily worse. You don't want to end up in hospital
