Is ipf and pf the same? I was sent a link awhile back but it wouldn't open.

Hi Dion3844o1I pm d you because the post wouldn’t open. Now it has!

Pf means pulmonary fibrosis which is scarring of the lungs. ipf is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Idiopathic means that there is no known cause of the scarring.

My bronchiectasis is idiopathic because they don’t know why I got the pneumonias which caused it but they don’t use the term when writing about bronch.
