Yep sibkev that's exactly what I do.. I've been on oxygen for 8+ years and the dryness is something that really goes away with time.. For me anyway... Good luck to all you strong individuals!!

I have had 3 lines filled with water backup and I'm not using a water bottle again. Others have said the same

Maybe steam but the effects may not last long ..or a wet tissue just to wipe round the nasal passages.kyjelly saline wash outs ..i get it first thing in the morning it's so annoying hope she sorts a remedy for it

Hi, My Mum also had this problem. She used aqueous cream. It's water based and very cheap.m but effective. I actually saw it recently in the £1 shop.

I have read that ky is the best for this. I use petroleum jelly and it works fine

Don't understand the "blocking tubes" comment

NB Oil based products are dangerous to use with oxygen equipment.

"You may also use water based products such as RoEezit* or KY Jelly for lips and nasal passages if dry.

Never use oils and grease on your oxygen equipment."

Hello Carlamartin, Oxygen can be very drying, affecting the Nose, and mouth. Aqaugel is a water based gel which helps with this problem. If you speak to your G.P they can prescribe it for you.Possibly helpful to use it regularly to minimise discomfort.Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) is not safe to use for O2 users.Drinking sufficient fluids is overall helpful too.Do hope your Mum feels less uncomfortable soon 😄 .

My ear, nose & throat Dr says never use petroleum products use Aquaphor on a q-tip to line nasal passages. Petroleum and oxygen are not a good combination

Hi my name is EssieT. Iam also on oxygen 24/7 and have been for 9 years. Does she have a water bottle attached to her machine? She should have a water bottle as that will put moisture in her oxygen. When you use a water bottle with your oxygen you also use distilled water in the water bottle. I sometimes get nose bleeds and sometimes my nose just gets so dry it hurts, but what I do is I use a Qtip and I put a little bit of neosporin in my nose and that really helps to heal my nose. I asked my Dr if this was ok and he said yes because it is an antibiotic ointment. I don't use much just a tiny bit. I hope I have given you some info that will be helpful.

good afternoon, I'm sorry that I'm just seeing this but there are plastic bottles that she can get that sits on the side of her oxygen machine, and it has tubing that she can hook her tubing into it and the water will flow freely. Tell her to ask her doctor about it. Good luck!
