Your Nurse sounds a very knowledgable person,I think stress is just not taken seriously enough, your nurse is spot on with her thinking, a lot of the sites on google have a vested interest in you ie selling you a service or a product thus frightening the life out of you far better sticking to this forum where good friendly relationships are formed based life long experiences in coping with their illnesses. ""KEEP OFF GOOGLE""and stick with your friends.
Take care Sonny X

I have been reading a lot of research on COPD, whilst a lot of it is very good there are huge Gaps in the knowledge when in comes to predicting outcomes in the individual. We are all different and all have different aspects and degrees of COPD. Googling can only give very general outlooks into the disease. If you talk to your consultant most will only talk in very general terms. They say MAY, COULD or MIGHT because in all honesty the do not know how fast or if things are going to happen. A lot of the media speculations concerning COPD are utter nonsense especially on Facebook and other sites. There are a number of support groups some are abismal when it comes to being positive. You ask for advice and get twenty horror stories about how it all went so wrong for them. Human nature is like that and it can give a very negative picture of COPD. My own attitude is to say yes I have got this illness but what can I do to help myself and so I am exercising, practising my breathing exercises, gain weight to bring my BMI up. All from the internet. At some point I will get pulmonary rehabilitation but I am not waiting about for it.
What. I have been reading that really frightens me is the fact that as well as the CopD and oxygen therapy I have chronic respiratory failure and what happens as time goes by puts real fear in me xx
