I keep reading that asthma symptoms include a faster heart and breathing rate, not slower. So why do I not only experience a slower heart rate as low as 49bpm (not physically fit) but my inhaling also ceases without my conscious control?

I know when I have an asthma attack my heart and breathing rate goes up.
I suggest you contact your GP . Best wishes.
Hi,
This needs to be further investigated. Is your heart rate always slower or only when you have asthma? What medicine are you taking. My mother, who has a naturally slower heart rate, was given blood pressure medication which slowed the heart rate - (not a good idea and not very intelligent of her doctor to do so). Luckily we discovered this before any real damage was done.
Find a doctor who will check out your concerns.
