Hi I recently had DVT in my left calf, I ended up having blood clots in my lungs, I also caught pleuracy too, I am just out of hospital yesterday and concerned, my question is: is coughing up blood dangerous, sometimes it is dark in colour and sometimes red, I would say approx 1 teaspoon full off, is this part of the healing process

I don't know if it's dangerous or not George, but with anything like this I'd suggest making an appointment with your GP asap. Get an emergency one if you have to so you'll be seen same day.
Good luck
PEs can cause you to cough up blood. When I was coughing up blood at the time of acute PEs I was told by a doctor "That's normal." So I never gave it another thought. A few days may be normal, but in my case it went on for six weeks. THAT is not normal. But I only learnt that last year when I was talking to my LLC (Lovely Lung Consultant) about those early symptoms. So if it goes on get thee to a doctor. If it had been picked up earlier in my case I might not be in the pickle I am.

Please ask your GP. He/she has all your medical history and is therefore better qualified to guide you.
