LEAKING KIDNEYS

Hi does anybody else have this problem its possible AZITHROMYCIN has had a hand in causing it,I am still awaiting consultation with specialist .

Do you have regular blood tests? I have been told that you need to check your levels about every 3 months as Azi can cause problems like this. My GP does mine for me

yes I had one in may which got lost so another one last week showing leaking protein and given Ramipril tablets for 1 month until further investigations are done.I chad to kep going to the doctor with oedema ,cellulitis and all symptoms pointed to kidney probs

Are you on Azi , every week as a prophylactic or do you have it only when you get an infection? As I think its only when you take it every week ( usual 3 times a week) that you have to have regular blood tests

Anyway, good luck with you further tests, Azi is a good drug to take for bronchiectasis and I would hate to have to come off of it , but of course would have to if it affected my other organs. I do believe that you could then nebulise colomycin instead if you have to stop the Azi

Hi Sohara, yes I take Azithromycin 3 times a week and have done since January 2016.I really hope it is something else but all my immunity is being attacked skin .nails .so just got to wait for nephrologist appointment.

I would of thought that if you are taking medication that can damage other organs you should have regular blood tests. I take medication for my psoriatic arthritis that can cause damage to your kidney and liver. And I have to have a blood test every 2 weeks.

Hi boxermad, blood has been found in my urine for a few years now...I have had all the tests, ultra scan, X-rays, a camera into my bladder ...but no problems have been found.

Of course I googled , and it can be a side effect of some medications I take....I am not on Azith though.

I hope you find an answer.

thank you,I do not have blood in urine just protein so hopefully nothing to worry myself about
