I have COPD and asthma and seem to be much more tired than usual and when fatigue hits, I just have to go to bed or I will fall asleep where I'm sitting or have a very tough time to stay awake.  Do others have this problem? Should I get the shot for the pneumococcal  pneumonia?

Hi, my wife has COPD and Ashma amongst other things. Fatigue is one of the things that you will suffer from because of the COPD but your medication could also be causing you to feel drowsy and fall asleep.

Well thank you so much John for letting me know your wife has the same kind of fatigue and without a doubt the meds could be causing some of the symptoms.  All the best to you and your wife John,  thank you. Luda

Hi Dandysmum

I have both your conditions, and get absolutely shattered, at times.

If l don't have a sleep, l would fall over !! 😁😁

Do you live in the UK, as l was offered the jab as soon as l was diagnosed, and had it....l also have an annual Flu Jab.

I guess that makes me feel a little better just knowing there are others who are feeling as I do.  I don't live in the UK but the shot is available here for a price and I think I am going to get it and yes I always get a flu shot each fall. Thanks for your reply. Luda xo

Acute tiredness is a sign to me that I could be getting a chest infection.  All the best X

Welcome to the site Luda. You don't say what stage copd you have. That would have a lot to do with you being so tired. If you're mild, it really shouldn't be making you that fatigued.  Also, I would think most of the inhalers, would have the opposite effect . Feel free to ask any questions you may have.😊                        Rubyxx 😊

Hi my FEV1 is 74% so pretty good but I still feel tired a lot more than I used to.  I have asthma as well.  I put a lot of it down to just getting older as well.    x
