I sometimes wonder why I continue coming to this forum. I know why now after being on here for a month. We all know what everyone else is going through. We all know what its like being breathless, that feeling of fear when we gasp for breath. Trying to clean our lungs and airways so we can feel the air flowing freely. Trying to breath in the freezing cold or hot humid conditions. Hoping that our medications do the job for us today. Wishing for some medical breakthrough to relieve us of our pain both physical and mental. Hoping for that magic wand to banish our condition away.
I do feel for everyone on here and I know you feel for me too.
We joke a lot but we all know how hard life can be for some of us. I do believe we somehow give each other strength through the hard times. the forum is somewhere to share our good and bad days, and where we can be sure of someone listening.

Hehehe yes I am the kids and I were awake until 2 am cheering our boys on Go the All Blacks!
That's why the site is here Gerald, to support all us lungies and to share our accumulated knowledge with each other. The only support and understanding I get for my copd is here and I couldn't do without you all. It can get a bit too fb at times but it is a well rounded site and we do have some laughs don't we?
Humour is very important as well as we all get very down at times and many friendships are formed. x

It's hard, it's bloody hard, it's ******* hard, (supply your own rude word). It's soooo relentless. It's why we are here because we know we can have a moan, a giggle, support each other, offer info and advice.
I agree 100% with you, lately I've felt a bit low,
Then I come on here and someone puts a funny pic/joke on, or I read all the lovely things that people say to one another when they are worried, scared, or unwell.
It makes me proud to be apart of this brilliant forum,
Morning Gerald, nice words and a lovely photo. Everyone likes to help each other on here and have a great understanding of illnesses etc. I have learnt such a lot since joining and feel very much part of a wonderful caring community. Glad you are just one of us too.
I have seen this forum go through different stages. I joined, I think about 2 1/2 years ago and there were a lot of problems going on at the time. But now it is brilliant, supportive, informative, friendly and well moderated. This is good - we can all relax. love pergola x
Oh so true. I just wish I didn't make myself worse by stressing, as soon as I try to go to sleep I can't breathe, so can't sleep. Then fall asleep during day. It is a vicious circle.
Well said Gerald. I gain a lot of strength from reading the posts on this forum. I post the occasional reply when I feel I can contribute or provide a helpful answer.
The vast majority of contributors, whom despite their own health problems, care for others and provide support and assistance to those in need.
This is a great forum, the warmth of the members give me a sense of belonging and the knowledge that I am not alone.
You have a way with words Gerald. My main reason for even commenting on here is the lack of emotional support at home and just reading other people's concern and caring about each other is uplifting.

Not looking forward to tomorrow,its supposed to be 29c,& I found the other day,when it was similar,I found the breathing a lot harder,& its still only Spring!
It is a good forum though,& you know you're not alone with your problems,it is a bit hard for others to understand.

However,just listening to news now,& they say tomorrow,& the next few days,we will be down to 23c,due to the wind coming from somewhere (Tassie?) Well that suits me,will try & send a bit of sun your way xx
I am pretty new to both the forums as well as the Dx..I find the forums, supportive, informative as well as depressing at times..I believe dropping in on an irregular basis isnt a bad thing but I dont want to live here..does that make sense??
We do all feel for each other on here, and the support is fantastic....The Only people who really understand what we are really feeling, are those who are suffering also.
I cannot help much with the technical things, but like others I try to give you a giggle from time to time whether you want it or not !!
Lets live in the hope that one day someone will discover that magic wand....until then we have each other.....

Yes Gerald, the folks on this forum really do not know that they have been my lifesavers this year. I have been struggling ever since I was hospitalised in Feb My children have been unable to support me because they were involved with their Father who died in June after a three year fight with prostate cancer. The good old NHS looked after my physical woes but it was my HU family that kept me gping. Simply knowing that you are all there with your varied interests, funny comments and genuine care keeps me pressing that HU button. Thank you all so much.
Couldn't have put it better myself, this forum is a lifeline where we can share our daily worries over our declining health and fears. Knowing others are going through similar trials and tribulations helps a great deal. The medical profession help with our physical needs but the emotional help we receive from the members on this forum is just as invaluable , if not more !
An excellent summary of why I come on here too Gerald. I come on several times a day and if I miss a day, I feverishly read through all the posts I've missed and reply to those that touch a cord. It's a brilliant place. xx
I have only been on here a few days but feel there is support from others who can appreciate what you are going through as they are there themselves. While even close family do not fully appreciate the full implications/ scary thoughts ect
