And on we go...

Husband last cat scan showed slight improvement in upper lung and lower lung so that was good news. Had his breathing test and they got it up to 98 so that was good but the technician said he would need to have a fit to fly test before we could fly .... A long wait apparently for this test end of August - unfortunate when we wanted to be away in early July .

Rung to complain that 8 weeks after the bronchoscope and the discovery of the throat polyp we were still awaiting the 'urgent' appointment with ENT and low and behold get an appointment the next day - should have complained earlier me thinks!!!!! this appointments outcome was they thought polyp nothing serious but would like an mri scan of throat and that there was a large amount of mucus around the throat - he keeps saying that the coughing is coming from his throat and not the chest.

Today he has very swollen ankles so not sure what has caused that checked his sats and oxygen levels 92/93. Should we be concerned about this...? Have read that the blood pressure tablet he has taken for months has a side effect of swollen ankles.

Sometime it just becomes a bit much problem over problem....

I am average at rest 93% I was told that I would need a fit to fly before I fly, but because of my other conditions they have told me not to fly or even stay in high altitude locations?

Flight socks are a great thing to wear when flying. I found that if I put them on before we set off on the whole journey and took them off when at the hotel I had a better day than without.

Be Well

It can often be one thing after another but I do think that things are looking up a little maybe. One day at a time. Pete always says to me "one step forward and three back" which is how it seems sometimes. You can always phone your GP regarding ankle swelling and they should be able to help you there. Hope you get to go on your trip soon and fingers crossed for you both. Lots of good wishes coming your way xxx

Hi Mariongisela, it sounds like your husband might have reflux, very common for people with copd. I have it, silent reflux which tends not to have heartburn symptoms, and I have loads of throat mucus and an irritating cough in the throat. (Very seldom have mucus on the lungs). If you haven't already, it would be worth asking your GP about this. :)

Bless you all - I have nothing but praise for this site... It lifts me when I know that I'm not alone with what ever my poor husband is going through . I know it's not me dealing with all the physical symptoms but I often feel so helpless and in the dark.

I needed to vent yesterday and I apologies if I always sound as if there is a moan!!

God bless you all
