Bronchiectasis
Yours is the second opacification query in the last few days. I will make a new thread for the whole Community to refer to. Rib
Thank you really appreciate that.
My non-expert explanation is this, when we get a bug, the alveoli in teh lungs get bigger and less elastic. Ther's a lot of mucus formation, together with a lot of mucus to fight the bug. That means that , at the scan you can see that the lungs are not clear, or only filled with air, you've also got the bug, and mucus.
it's not terrible! But it shows you have a bug. Has your consultant ask you for a sputum sample. Perhaps it would be a good idea to ask your GP for a sputumm pot and cough up in it and have it analysed. This would show if there's a bug, and the doc cna give you some appropriate antibiotics.
Help yourself with eating well, resting well and takning some exercises at home.
here's some lung exercises from YouTube:

Hi. I have Tree in Bud in both right and left lungs. It does not show on X-ray, only HRCT. I have been told that it is old infection but, as I do not have a productive cough, no treatment is offered/required. I don't know if it affects me functionally as I have small airway narrowing and weak respiratory muscles so its anybody's guess which of these is the most problematic.
Hope this reassures you a bit. I have had these CT findings in both 2011 & 2013 with no worsening problems. C x
Thank you yes this does help grateful for your response. Ju
