I've been looking all over the BLF website to find information on how to become a member. Does anyone have the link for me to follow?

I'd just give the helpline a ring poemsgalore and get them to send you one.

I went into 'All things BLF' poemsgalore and created question there, thinking they will be bound to see it but think it has just posted as normal question in no category. Sorry, helpline probably best if no one from BLf answers in the community.

You're right it appeared in no category. How about typing in Google, British Lung Foundation/ membership. I did this and was shown a membership form to fill in.

I also am a member of Breathe Easy which is produced by BLF local group. perhaps this is an idea.

Have you tried sending an e-mail to enquiries@blf-uk.org ? It may be worth a try. I am a member but since the web community was taken over by Healthunlocked and BLF reduced staff we no longer get the magazine we used to receive and my membership card which should have been renewed at the end of October wasn't! It will be interesting to see if BLF reply to your question.

I think a lot of people who are/were members of BLF are wondering what is going to happen since you no longer have to send your £10.00 to be a member and receive the magazine Breathing Space. Obviously ;the magazine cost a lot of money to produce and took up most of the £10.00 but the alternative of an internet newsletter isn't going to suit everyone. We await developments.

Thanks for all the information. I don't think I'll bother if there are so many problems becoming a member. Life's too short!! (whispers) Secretly I only wanted to join so I could get the magazine, but if that's no longer available!!!(end of whisper). I've signed up for the email newsletter, so I'll see what that's like. xx

Hi Everyone

The BLF Membership Scheme was ended in September. The Breathing Space magazine which members received was also stopped. The production costs of the magazine were significantly higher thean the money brought in through membership fees and advertising charges. We just couldn't afford to keep on producing the magazine - even though it was well liked by so many people.

However that doesn't mean we don't want people to support the BLF - and it doesn't mean that we don't want to keep you informed about the work of the BLF. So we now have a new newsletter called "Your BLF" - anyone can register with us to receive "Your BLF" - it is only available by email and there is no charge. To register to receive the new newsletter go to the BLF website - blf.org.uk/Home - and the box to sign up for the newletter is on the left handside towards the bottom.

Thanks

Mark
