Hi all, I've finally given in and realise I might benefit from a mobility scooter, can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks Liz

GO TO YOUR LOCAL MOBILITY SHOP FOR ADVISE.

BUT DONT TAKE THEIR PRICES AS GOSPEL SHOP AROUND

Hi

Try

discountmobilitydirect.co.uk/

I purchased from them no problems.

Shops tend to a have a two or three fold mark up

Do you now the type of scooter.

Transportable .......easy to dismantle and carry in most car boots. 4 mph

Pavement .... More robust can be transported. 6 mph

Road legal.... Very robust greater distance 6/8 mph

Hi before you buy make sure the roads around you are suitable and that there are not lots of cars on pavements and of course where you are going to keep it. I had a scooter for 3 years and in that time I only used it about 5 times, we had to man handle it through the house and it was not long before we could not manage it so it had to go.

My hubby has one which we bought 2nd hand from ebay. Best thing we did. It is a 4mh which comes apart and fits in the car boot. It has had new batteries after 19 months . We 1st visited a mobility shop to find out which was most suitable for him before shopping around. He would be lost without it. Good luck in your search. Joyce.

Thanks Stitch I thought you had to do it through mobility and pay so much per month but I would prefer to pay it outright, thanks again.

i would always go for bigger wheel type four wheels not three very safe then but if u need to fold it up in car you have to get one that comes to bits also have to tk your weight into account .

i woul;d consider second hand one that hass been servised and good cond there are loads about because unfortunetly people get bought them to mk there life easier and they dont use them enough hope this helps i have two one for when hubby puts me in car and big one for when im independent
