I really would like to help, mommalou. Is it your health, living on your own, worries and whatever is going on in your life. See the cause of your depression and you could start sorting out a solution. More than likely you need help and maybe lots of it.

I am wondering whether you need to see your GP, OR RING THE BLF nurse. You are welcome to PM me if you wish. Love Anniseedxx

Annie is right. You need contact with people and the Internet isn't enough. If we knew more about your abilities, or lack of them, we could advise. Also where are you located, that makes a difference about what is available in your area.

I think you need to rest up a bit longer mammalou after your recent episode in hospital, allowing the antibiotics and steroids to work, these can make you feel low and just having a lung infection can too, so just take things easy, drink plenty of fluids (not alcohol) and just remember this time will pass. Have something nice to eat, make a cuppa, put on your favourite music or video.

Once you are feeling better think about making contact with your local breathe easy group and catching up with friends or ask the doc about pulmonary rehabilitation, if you've done that already think about an exercise group, check with your doc about this he/she may know of something suitable for you locally.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I'm sorry your feeling so down Mommalou. I would advice you to talk to your dr, maybe a course of anti depression meds could help get you over a bad patch. Maybe you could talk to a counselor but the first place to start is with your dr. Don't suffer in silence life is tough enough for us without having to deal with depression or anxiety.

Hi

Feel free to give me a call on the helpline I'm the counsellor here (so its phone calls only) or I can send out some information on depression and some self help strategies? I would recommend that you contact your GP and push (if necessary) for some CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).

There are also some websites that have self help if you would be interested I can provide further details?

BLF helpline number 03000 030 555 - I'm Helen or H for short.

Take care

H
