Well done, Pamela, keep at it. You will be so proud not to be a slave to a box of matches and a packet of crap. I been helping nowheeze and she is so pleased with herself. SO dont give in.
Remind yourself that the addiction withdrawal only lasts a few days, that is the most difficult part, now if you can do that then you no longer have the reasons to fail. I used to prepare carrots, celery, apples to keep in the fridge to nibble. Also the hand to mouth gigaretts you can buy with nicotine cartridges. I used to cary that around with me until I realised I no long required it.
With or without the cartridges.
Good luck and remember the hardest part is the first few days. From there it gets easier.

Hi Pamela,
Good to hear that you are doing OK. What you have to do now is realise that you are at the crest of the hill and now it's all downhill to the home goal.
have a good day. Dave.
Thankyou so much anieseed I won't give in in the horrible white stuck
La just glad I've got, alot if,support on here a big thankyou again xxx
MARVELLOUS - CONGRATULATIONS! Well done, you deserve a big pat on the back. You have done the hard bit! Take care, TAD xx
Well done Pamela. It is hard but you are doing it. Just think how you no longer have to put up with people staring at you when you stand outside smoking. No longer do you wonder how long it is before you can have a cigarette if you are in the cinema or somewhere that stops you smoking.
You wot be smelling of stale smoke anymore and your oxygen levels will already have improved a lot. Keep it up, you are doing great!
Lynne xx
Hi ros I hope I am over the worst part now I've been using the nicotine inalatour and picking on chewing gum.currants anything that's not going to put loads,of weight on scuds
Thankyou tad xxx
At this stage I used to think to myself if I give in now I have put myself through hell for the last few days for nothing and I will have to go through if all again at some stage. By now your food should taste better and your sense of smell should be better and you will be feeling smug and very proud of yourself when you pass smokers stood outside pubs and shops and so you should. It is such a sense of achievement. Keep it up it really is worth it.
Love Gail

Hi Sandra thankyou for all your help you have bee n my biggest inspiration a few people in this site have spoke so highly of you and how well you have done so I've been, listening to all your advice a big thankyou xxx how are you doing Sandra with your no smoking I no things have been really hard for you regarding your daughter hope things are starting to get better for you big hugs xx
Hi Pamela, right now I don't look too inspirational - dark circles under eyes, drawn cheeks, even more furrows on my brow .... but yeah, this has been a very stressful time. I've removed all means which would allow me my old comforter - that's how low this stress has got my willpower .... and Annie is so good at letting me message her to less my stresses out - ya know, along the lines of a problem shared, and all that! But, I've stayed smoke free, and I intend to continue being smoke free.
Along the lines of advice - when you go out, only take enough money to buy what you're going for - less likely then to succumb and buy a packet. Keep reminding yourself how difficult it was in the first few days - and is it really worth going through all that again ....no. Keep visualising you being smoke free and breathing easier - even with all the stress (which does impact adversely on my breathing) I have found my breathing to be better.
Thanks for the hugs, they are all helping me get through this
Love and hugs to you Pamela, and again, congratulations on getting here, and I know you'll see week 3 smoke free too
Sanda x x x
Keep going, you have done so well, just think of that holiday!! xx
Thankyou Wendells x
Thankyou Dave xx
Well done two weeks! For me once past 3 weeks it got easier, I think the psychology about it changes at this time, focus more on the health benefits and the reinforcement of the ability to achieve the goal.
More Quit tools here:
Keep up the good work, just keep choosing to be smoke free.
I mean this in a positive way and I speak as someone who stopped 4 weeks ago. HAVE A GOOD CRY you have lost a friend who was always there for you and was killing you at the same time. KEEP ON TRYING x

Hi and well done , regarding the hand to mouth .i think a lot of trying to stop smoking is missing the hand to mouth so when i stopped with the inlater i stuffed it with a tissue and carried it around and found i could puff on it this helped a lot because of the hand to mouth contact hope this helps xxx
