What time can we ring BLF until? Breathed in and rang. No nurses in til Monday. Is this usual?

Thank you azaard, that was what I thought. Lucky me, apparently it was a training day today. My timing is legendary. Pity really as it has taken a while to take things in and formulate sensible questions. Oh well. Thanks for replying.:-) Alison

Hi

No it's not usual that we don't have a nurse available. The nurses do however need to keep themselves up to date which sometimes means they attend ocassional study days - today happens to be a day when the nurses are on a study day.

I'm sorry that there wasn't a nurse available to speak to - if you need an answer to a medical question that can't wait until Monday perhaps you could consider calling NHS Direct 0845 46 47 if you live in Engalnd and Wales - or NHS24 08454 24 24 24 if you live in Scotland or your GP service in Northern Ireland.

The BLF Helpline is open 10 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday.

Thank you for letting me know, Mark. It is much appreciated. Just unfortunate that today clashed with me feeling that I could ring and make sense over the phone. :-) Alison

You might get some help from your surgery if you phone them quick appyallison, you could ask for a telephone appointment, if its urgent say so to the receptions.

Or depending on the query your local pharmacist may be able to advise you.

Thank you BlakeyC. It was not an urgent call but it has taken a while to pluck up the nerve and be able to work out what I needed to know. Now have go psyche myself up for Monday. It was very good advice, though, and I am grateful :-) Alison
