Disabled access at DONCASTER ROYAL INFIRMARY

Good Morning hope we are all feeling well.

I am asking people who use Doncaster Royal Infirmary for their comments on the new access and and car parking for A&E and Outpatients at this hospital.

Since the changes for vehicle access and egress for these 2 departments I have had to go to A&E 3 times in 3months with my lung problems. On discharge the hospital kindly organised me with a taxi to home, but the nurses are obviously very busy and take you to the waiting area in the A&E department. Now for the bad bit when your taxi arrives in the Collect and drop off area you are expected to go up a hill along with your belongings up a hill and past people who are not supposed to smoke within the hospital grounds to your taxi. On 2 occations it has been raining.

As I have 4 lung problems and walking problems you can imagine that I almost ended back in A&E.

This problem has been complained about to PALS and has been forwarded to the estates department.

I would appreciate any backup and comments with letters to PALs at DRI

People on here are from all over the country and even different places in the world. It might be difficult to get the responses you want re Doncaster Royal infirmary. Are you on Facebook? There you can join specific groups for areas in England. There will probably be a group for Doncaster. Am sure there you will find lots of people who use your specific hospital.

Many Thanks for your reply, and I have placed this problem with DRI on a few media sites and also with our local Free Press office and I thought that not only people not only living in the Doncaster may have friends or relatives who use this Hospital for their health problemsThanks Again for your valuable comment
