Hi just joined on Wednesday and have already looked at some great advice. Started doing peak flows at least 3 times a day for the go to look at in a week and I’m starting to get a painful/strained chest, just wondering if it’s gets less painful as you get used to doing it. Might be giving my lungs a work out though lol 😊

Oh poor you, you’re using muscles that aren’t used to the work. Yes it does get easier, but it still makes me cough after several months. Does it feel like the muscles overworking? You’re not coughing up any coloured mucus?
Hi thanks for quick reply, no I’m not coughing up mucus so that’s good, just feels bruised and like it’s burning a bit, a little like if you’ve been coughing a lot with a cold etc. I’m pleased it gets a bit easier then I know I can do it right every time.
Just keep an eye on things, OK? If it doesn’t get easier or if you develop a cough/fever then it could be a chest infection starting. But overworked muscles are more likely. 😊
