Hey guys! So I had a life threatening asthma attack- my first one 6 months ago.... I went into respiratory arrest, passed out, woke up 3 days later in Icu incubated.
Well my voice is still very raspy from it -haven't gotten it back sense- and it seems my asthma is worse now- after very moderate exercise- meaning walking up hill or a few blocks.
Is there some sort of trauma that happens? Will it get better? Is this scar tissue in my lungs and throat? Ugh it's been so long and I just want to be better. Thank you! -Jess.

As you have such a trauma, I think you just need to give yourself time. One of my relatives who is a surgeon told me that it can take 9-months to a year to recover properly from ICU.
I find that if I have a bad exacerbation it can take 6 months to fully recover.
Not sure this helps, but have hope.

Hi I would go back to the doctors and get it checked out. x
If you haven't had a recent doctor's checkup, that would be a good idea. Also You might talk to the doctor about checking your ferriton iron, B-12, D-3 and magnesium levels. Asthma medications can deplete them sometimes. You may need supplements to get your body back in shape. After I had severe asthma, I was tested and found low on Ferritin iron and D-3. That explained how weak I felt! Supplements are helping!
