I think your question is a bit vague. Doesn't it depend on what you want to buy and why? The person who managers your carers might be able to help if you phone him/her.

A bit vague?!

what might you need from over the counter?

paracetamol, dioralyte sachets, cough remedies, cold remedies, thrush.

ring the person who organisers my care.

i organise my own care thank you! if you go on CQC website and look up section 12 of there rules you will see ALL home care agencies are not allowed to adminster medications that are not on repeat prescription. i think it is an out cry that this can be allowed! but clearly i am the only one that this impacts.

I have care too from a care agency and have my own OTC meds as well. Do they administer your meds? Mine aren't involved in my meds apart from Diprobase emollient which they help apply to my skin. Perhaps have a chat to your GP or nurse at the surgery about this as you should be able to make informed choices about other meds as long as they don't interact with your prescribed meds. Maybe they can contact the agency about your other meds from OTC... Would a formal letter from them help?

I didn't know about that rule.....

I buy quite a few meds OTC but am careful what I do take.
