The results of the article is not surprising. Symptoms may be produced by a variety of causes. Faulty breathing because of poor muscle control may indicate asthma, but it is not asthma. It is faulty breathing which can be rectified by appropriate physical training not by medication.

Medication is a quick fix because the doctor knows this treatment has a reasonable possibility of success. Re-training breathing gone wrong requires more time and effort from the doctor. A doctor is limited on time so the shorter time solution always seems the best approach.
