Could anyone tell me if havig their carpets lifted and wooden floors laid has helped with their asthma symtoms as I keep being told it will but It is expensive to do so. I would be grateful for any advice thanks Suzy.

Wooden flooring
We moved into a brand new house in 2000 so had hard flooring where ever possible, even the bedroom. Its a combination of wood and tiles but can't say its made that'much difference. Suppose it depends on what your asthma triggers.
Hope this helps

Hi thanks for your reply any opinion helps as I like carpet(its warm) and its expensive to change dust is a trigger though but maybe having them proffesionally cleaned would help
Thanks Suzy
You could try wood effect lino floor covering.
I had it in my last flat and currently got my bungalow done.
It looks just as good as wooden floors and much cheaper.
The only downside is that you notice the dust sooner! LOL!

PS I also have dust protectors on bedding, I have even tried the duvet cover again , bit like sleeping under a crisp packet the first night!

If you want to get your carpets professionally cleaned it can be expensive. You can hire special carpet cleaners from tescos and buy the special shampoo for a fraction of the cost of professional cleaning and is just as good if you have the energy to do it your or have a good friend or someone who can do it for you. Hope it helps. Lv kat Xxx
I found wooden floor to be benefical to me you can lay it easy enough but my doctor suggested that someone do it for me as the dust is not good for an asthmatic and never paint also lol You can also get a special duster its only a couple of quid and it lift the dust without it going into the air. x

Hi thanks for all your replys so far, I have been out and bought a mattress protector today I want some for my pillows next. Also I think if I rent a carpet cleaner from the supermarket as suggested my husband can clean all the carpets and see how I get on it would be a lot cheaper, thanks Suzy
